The vision of Hospice of Northwest Ohio is to positively transform the way people view and experience the end of life. Celebrating over 40 years of service to the community, it is the only independent non-profit agency in the Toledo area solely dedicated to the care of terminally ill patients and their families. With unmatched expertise in pain and symptom management, Hospice provides specialized medical and nursing care, plus spiritual and emotional support to patients. Receiving care in their own homes, in nursing homes or at Hospice of Northwest Ohio’s two freestanding centers, patients can access hospice services when it is believed they have six months or less to live. People of all ages—and with all types of end-stage diseases— benefit from the broad array of services provided to both them and their family members. Covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most commercial insurance plans, hospice care is both affordable and cost-effective. Hospice of Northwest Ohio is a community-based hospice, not affiliated with any other health care system, and turns no one away due to inability to pay.
